8-Inch Single Stage Nodal Rail Great Impression |

The quality of the 8" nodal rail is top notch, the screw driven stage moves effortlessly and precise focusing is easy even with a minuscule depth of field.
I plan on using it in the field for macro shooting and focus stacking and for in-studio lens resolution tests that are highly dependent on having precise focus.
The rail is a bit heavy to include in wilderness excursions but the weight helps stabilize the shot when used on a strong tripod/head setup.
There is zero play in the attachment of the stage clamp to the rail and in the camera clamp.
The slider release works well to quickly move the stage a larger distance quickly and immediately snaps back into place. The stage lock is easily accessed and firmly grips the rail to lock down stage position.
All knobs are strong, firm and turn smoothly showing absolutely no play or wobble.
Like the all the other purchases I have made from Hejnar this is high quality, professional grade equipment designed for years of use.
